I don't think Gary gets the credit he deserves for being such a huge influence on popular culture and many peoples lives. You won't find an American that has not heard of D&D. There might still be gamers but they would be playing board games. There likely would not be MMORPG without the RPG to emulate. I have been playing D&D for 22 years now and while I never met Gary I kind of feel like an old friend died.

Really sad... Never met Gary either, but he's been a familiar name since I was eleven or twelve.
